Activities
1) Watersport potential surveys: As
part of its commitment to work for strengthening the watersports
development and promotion, Institute has undertaken many studies. Consultancy assignments
cover feasibility study for watersports operation, potential studies and
impact assessment.
Main beneficiaries
were the government agencies, whose list include Kerala, Orissa, Madhya
Pradesh,
Pondicherry
, Andaman, Karnataka, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Jharkhand,
Chhatisgarh,
Jammu
, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh , Punjab, Tamil Nadu,
Gujarat
, West Bengal Andhra Pradesh & Sikkim.
2) Watersport equipment
procurement: Institute
performs an advisory role for procurement of high quality watersports
equipments by the government bodies. Some states to
which this benefit extended are: Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, A & N
Administration, Lakshadweep, Bihar, Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council, Uttar
Pradesh, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and
Jammu and Kashmir
. The Indian Army, Coast Guard and similar institutions also approach the
Institute for views in regard to procurement.
3) Beach rescue system
for Kerala & Goa Tourism.
4) Feasibility
Studies for Watersport Operators:
Institute has undertaken many watersports feasibility studies for
enthusiastic private entrepreneurs- both inland/river system and on the
sea coast. Of late, request for such studies are increasing and efforts
were made to address those.
Institute would charge
fees to carry out the study in
order to cover the study-related expenses. The quantum of the fee
would be decided on the basis of the nature of the study.
