The Union Ministry of Tourism has identified certain segments of watersporting in the unorganized sector category for consideration under “capacity building for service providers” scheme (CBSP). Under this, Institute conducts some safety-related training programs without charging course fees. A decision to this effect however would depend on existing schedule and other logistic considerations. A stipend of Rs. 100/- per head per day is paid to the trainees. To conduct training under this scheme, the sponsoring agency will be required to arrange necessary logistics at its cost.

This scheme is essentially meant to raise the safety standards of water-related recreational activities and the target group would be those working as part of the unorganized sector. Successful trainees will be awarded photo-certificates on behalf of The Union Ministry of Tourism. Needless to state, display of these licenses by the Holder would contribute a great extent to building confidence among the watersports participants.
